Product Marking

You should distinguish trade marks from other copy or wording on products, brochures, adverts and any promotional material. Ideally trade marks should be identified by a different typeface and can be accompanied by TM or, if registered, by the letter R in a circle. An appropriate footnote can also be added to publications indicating that eg "ACME is a registered trade mark of Acme Ltd.".

For trade marks (including service marks), passing off and licensing, contact Ian Smith in our Bristol office.
