We can check the status of British and European patents and applications from on-line official Patent Office databases. Novelty and infringement searches can also be arranged. We can set up watches on newly granted patents or published patent applications, thereby providing valuable information about new developments in a particular technical field or the activities of competitors.
On the trade mark side, we can conduct swift in-house checks to see whether a particular mark is already registered and to identify prior registrations which present an obvious obstacle to the use and registration of a new mark. We will also arrange for full availability searches to be carried out both in the UK and in other countries. If required, worldwide watches can be maintained for identical or confusingly similar marks so that action can be taken quickly to file oppositions or cancellations.
